President Obama Could Use Some Breathing Room
63President Obama Is Being Analyzed Like No Other President Before Him
Since taking office in January of this year, President Barack Obama has found himself under the microscope of the entire world. Arguably,no other president in American history has found himself under such all encompassing scutiny.
Some of the intense analysis can be attributed to many who are still skeptical about his ability to lead the free world but a lot of it has to do with the atmosphere of mistrust created by the Bush administration.
The imaginative law bending practiced by those of the Bush era left a cloud of doubt hanging over The White House.
Since the time of his swearing in, President Obama has had to hit the ground running in order to keep up with the enormous cache of problems that lay ahead of him. And since that time he has had a paparazzi-like following of media that would rival any pop culture figure.
Previous presidents have had their governing strategies closely examined before but nothing like what we are witnessing with Obama.
Unfortunately, President Obama finds himself the innocent victim of the previous governing body's continual disregard for law, protocol and individual rights. Usually a new president is given time to adjust to the rigors of being the leader of the most powerful nation in the world.
Not Obama.
His learning curve has been accelerated to warp speed, forcing him to digest many complex issues and almost immediately dole out instructions on how he would like for them to be addressed.
All while the world watches intently
Under this kind of pressure most people would find it difficult to function but Obama seems to revel in it. He has been nothing less than brilliant in his ability to administrate while laboring under an avalanche of problems and analysis.
In this writer's opinion, President Obama should be given a great deal of credit for being able to perform so well while working within such an intense enviroment.
Presidents Roosevelt (Franklin), Kennedy, Johnson (Lyndon) and Bush (George W.) all faced critical situations that had global implications during their administrations. None of them however, with the exception of Bush, had to deal with any of those situations in concert with a 24 hour news cycle that was watching their every move.
George W. Bush, up until the time of the terrorist attacks of 9/11, was allowed to quietly and slowly assimilate himself to the office of president. Times were so relaxed when he inherited the office, that he was reading books to elementary school students when the attacks came.
In this age of the internet, satellite communications and 24 hour news coverage , we have all but eliminated any sense of privacy for public figures.
I for one, think we should take a few steps back and give President Obama some breathing room.

---- democrats always blame someone else for their ineptness!
He didn't do any better under his OWN presidency.
The country has not improved at all under his direction and with the HELP of the democrat controlled congress.
Do you think President Obama is under more pressure to perform than the previous president George W. Bush?

Part of the scrutiny comes from his simply being half black which is a first for our nation in terms of American presidents. Having said that he is a likeable guy and our president. I do believe though we could have made a better choice.
On my old blog, I levied a strike against the GOP for being childish about the president's having held himself to a promise and taking his wife out for a "night on the town."
I think every president should be allowed at least that much room twice a year...even if it means that the outings come at the expense of American taxpayers.
